I was very pleased with the RSCVA's decision to open up their strategic planning meetings to the public. My husband and I were able to attend and felt that everyone's ideas were well received. We are very interested and excited about the changes going on in Reno and are happy to see other community members wanting to help Reno's image change. We hope to be involved in promoting Reno and its surrounding areas as the"Great Place" it is. Thank you again to Ellen and the RSCVA for looking to your community to help attract visitors to the Reno-Tahoe area. We have to be a partnership! I believe we are going in the right direction and the changes going on, especially dowtown, are only going to increase the appeal and marketability of this area!

Stephanie -
Thank you for your time at the meeting and for your follow up here. Being an important leader in our community your input is valued. This is an exciting time to identfy the direction of the RSCVA and I'm thrilled that you are taking part in the process. The outcome and final plan should be something that we all can believe in! Thanks again for your comment.

I was fortunate to be able to attend the first strategic planning community input session and it was an excellent discussion of mission, priorities and functions... all within limited resources, and with lots to accomplish quickly. As I said at the meeting and feel strongly about... the primary target for the RSCVA's expenditure of human or financial resources, should be the attraction, retention, entertainment and satisfaction of high quality visitors for this market. So, as decisions need to be made about what facilities, events, marketing/sales programs to support, I feel strongly that visitors should be the primary market. If those activities also happen to entertain and satisfy residents, then we have a bonus... but it should not be the priority. Other entities do and should have missions and functions that relate more to residents than vsitors.
